What is a BLE-GATEWAY?

A BLE-GATEWAY is a device that works on the same principle as a WiFi router. It contains the hardware and application software needed to connect all desired business assets (materials, equipment, machines, etc.) to the cloud. The indoor gateway is like a meeting place for these assets. A very large space may need more than one indoor gateway, but this depends on several factors. The indoor gateway connects many types of business assets equipped with a TAG.BLE. The cloud is where all data is stored and then sent on to our online management application. The gateway is the means by which all assets are indirectly connected to the cloud and the application.

The BLE-GATEWAY is therefore a device that is placed at strategic indoor locations. They operate with low power consumption and pick up TAG.BLE signals in warehouses, offices, etc.

How does it work?

The main purpose of the BLE-GATEWAY is to monitor equipment indoors. The fixed gateways function as workplace monitors. They provide information on all TAG.BLE equipped tools and equipment entering the gateway's monitoring area:

  1. last seen location
  2. Continuous monitoring of tagged assets
  3. movement hours of the tagged assets
  4. ensures an accurate inventory of all tagged assets

What kind of business do you follow?

The TAG.BLE-GATEWAY can be widely used in various vertical industries such as shopping malls, airports, supermarkets, entertainment venues, concerts, hospitals, schools, museums, businesses, administrative units, government departments, factories, logistics, etc., Our technology enables asset tracking, access control, indoor positioning and industrial automation.

What are the advantages of the BLE-GATEWAY technology?

Once set up, all tagged devices are monitored by the BLE-GATEWAY(S), which eliminates manual tasks and the margin of possible human error. Furthermore, it helps to save valuable time because you have an overview of where each asset is located at all times. Some key features include

  • low energy consumption
  • Super fast WiFi CPU and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity
  • up to 300 metres transmission range
  • Scanning up to 300 BLE devices per second

What is a TAG.QR-NFC?

This is a passive way of tracking your company assets via a TAG.QR-NFC. It is passive because the tag itself does not automatically send a signal, but waits for an action of a user who scans the barcode and in this way can view all available information linked to this asset online on the CHECK platform. Like TAG.BARCODE, it is a very good value for money solution if you want to track assets that change location frequently. Bluetooth is also an option and offers more possibilities, but a barcode is - together with the TAG.QR-NFC - the cheapest solution. However small or large, everything you want to follow up, can be tagged with a barcode: (waste) containers, work material, (pool) cars, drilling machines, ...

How does a TAG.QR-NFC differ from a BARCODE sensor?

  • You can also have the code scanned externally (by the public) to make reports without granting access to the platform. For this, the user needs a QR scanner app on his smartphone.
  • If the QR code is damaged, you can still read the NFC code

What are you following?

  • Schedule maintenance
  • Who has the asset with them
  • Where the asset is going

How does it work?

  1. Open the mobile app on the smartphone
  2. Scan the barcode on the asset
  3. The card of the scanned asset is opened
  4. You can now add an action such as check-in/out, assign to user or location, ...

The interesting thing is that the TAG.NFC does not need its own power supply. The NFC chip obtains its energy from the NFC reader/writer (e.g. a mobile phone). Therefore, a TAG.NFC is intended for use at a very short distance of up to approximately 3 cm. With a TAG.NFC, less data is lost; it is therefore much safer in use.

What is a TAG.GPS?

Tracking hours of operation becomes child's play!

Manually tracking machine hours is counterproductive and can cost your business a fortune. You also run the risk of losing your warranty if the time or number of operating hours of a machine exceeds the manufacturer's specifications. It could also be that an employee or user does not record the hours of operation correctly so that a subsequent calculation is incorrect. It is therefore a smart idea to use digital technology to monitor how much and when the equipment is being used, and to receive the actual hours automatically.

What technology is used?

This IoT tracker is our high-end solution and can provide a solution for countless problems. Do you wish to register the running hours of your working machines, map the location of your machine fleet, measure the temperature or the air humidity of a particular zone, detect movement ... you can rely on the TAG.GPS. Due to its large GPS antenna, the TAG.GPS can transmit all data via the Sigfox network to the CHECK platform. The tag can also be set to send a message at specific desired times, so that you have an up-to-date overview when you need it.

How does this IoT technology work?

  1. The TAG.GPS is placed on the asset: depending on the desired data, the place on the asset may vary.
  2. Via the Sigfox network (Engie), the data is automatically transmitted to the CHECK platform on your PC or your mobile app on your tablet and smartphone.
  3. In combination with the QR code that is also integrated on the TAG.GPS, you can add all kinds of actions per business asset on the CHECK platform.

What type of machines do you follow?

  • Forklift truck, aerial work platform, trailer, reach stacker, ... What are the most important assets?
  • Accurate GPS positioning
  • One rechargeable Lithium battery
  • Can be connected to an existing power source, saving internal battery.
  • Can also be used as a beacon. In this case, the TAG.GPS on the asset recognises the beacon and is used to determine its location. Because of this, the GPS of the tag does not have to be used; which again saves the internal battery. It is the tag itself which sends the data to the CHECK platform.

What is a TAG.WIFI?

This is an active way of monitoring company assets that are used indoors or in densely populated geographical areas (e.g. city, industrial park, ...). Via the WIFI tag, the asset data is automatically transmitted via WiFi to the CHECK platform.

How does it work?

  1. A Wi-Fi tag is attached to the asset
  2. Using Wi-Fi sniffing technology, the two MAC addresses with the strongest WIFI signal are identified and used for location determination.
  3. The data is automatically forwarded to the CHECK platform
  4. In the sheet of the asset you can - in combination with QR code that is integrated on the bluetooth tag - add all kinds of actions

How does the TAG.WIFI differ from the TAG.BLUETOOTH?

The big difference with the TAG.BLUETOOTH is that no gateway or smartphone is required. However, you are dependent on external MAC addresses over which you have no control. Thanks to the integrated geofencing function, you can automatically receive an alarm notification if the asset leaves this virtually defined zone. This tag can thus be used as an invisible theft alarm. Attention: the location determination can only be done in zones where at least 2 MAC address signals are present.

What kind of business do you follow?

  • Televisions, cleaning machines, material trolleys, computers: all valuable materials that are indoors and are not allowed to go outside a certain geofence zone without permission.

What are the most important assets?

  • Geofencing
  • Compact yet high-performance
  • Certain settings such as the number of messages per day can be adjusted remotely.

What is a TAG.WIFI-GPS?

This is a very complete, active way of locating, tracking and securing company assets - both indoors and outdoors. It is a very reliable solution if you want to know where the asset is, and when an asset moves/falls/changes location. The combined WiFi-GPS technology ensures that the GPS tracking (which consumes a lot of battery power) is only activated if there is no WiFi signal. This way the battery life is increased.

How does this IoT technology work?

  • You place the TAG.WIFI-GPS on the asset
  • The tag uses WiFi or GPS to automatically transmit data to the CHECK platform:

location determination, alerts on unwanted motion detection, temperature fluctuations, ...

What kind of business assets do you follow:

  • Forklifts, cleaning machines, electric pallet trucks, welding stations, etc. What are the most important assets?
  • Battery saving as battery-consuming GPS is only used when there is no WiFi signal present
  • Combination of 2 tracking methods
  • Additional functions: accelerometer, temperature gauge, ...
  • Certain settings such as the number of messages per day can be adjusted remotely
  • Instant alarm on unintended removal (if magnetic contact is broken)

What is a TAG.BLE?

This is an active way of tracking corporate assets. Your smartphone detects the bluetooth signal from the tag on your asset and automatically (hence actively, not passively) transmits location data via GPS to the online CHECK platform. What kind of business assets do you track?

The TAG.BLE can be attached to all equipment and material that is permanently in a gateway area (yard, warehouse, company premises, etc.) or within the range of smartphones. Attention: it is not intended as a track & trace system for theft protection.

How does it work?

  1. A TAG.BLE is placed on an asset.
  2. A signal is sent out every 3 seconds.
  3. A Bluetooth gateway or smartphone with Bluetooth activation within a predefined radius (from 20m to +/- 200m) picks up the signal.
  4. The gateway or smartphone transmits data from the tag to the CHECK platform.
  5. In combination with the QR code that is integrated on the TAG.BLE, you can then add all kinds of actions to the business assets.

What are the advantages of a TAG.BLE?

  • No manual action/scanning is required; location is determined automatically
  • Thanks to Bluetooth 5.0 technology, batteries last longer (+/- 3 years at certain intervals) and are replaceable.
  • The tag is ultra small: no bigger than a 2 eurocent.
